The Puerto Rico Energy Commission, pursuant to Act 57-2014, as amended, known as the Puerto Rico Energy Transformation and RELIEF Act, and Act No. 170 of August 12, 1988, as amended, known as the Uniform Administrative Procedure Act, proposes to amend Regulation No. 8653, known as the Regulation on the Contribution in Lieu of Taxes. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to adapt the provisions of Regulation 8653 to those established in Section 22 of Act No. 83 of May 2, 1941, as amended, known as the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority Act, relating to the mechanism and rules that shall govern the implementation and distribution procedure of the contribution that PREPA makes to municipalities in lieu of paying them taxes.
The text of the amendment proposal is available for public scrutiny at the Puerto Rico Energy Commission, located in the World Plaza Building, 268 Muñoz Rivera Ave., Suite #702, Hato Rey, PR 00918. The working hours of the Puerto Rico Energy Commission are between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on business days. The amendment proposal will also be published along this Notice on the Commission’s Internet website, www.energia.pr.gov.
During a period of thirty (30) days, starting from the publication date of this Notice, any interested person shall be able to submit comments in writing to the attention of Mr. Agustín F. Carbó Lugo, Esq., Chairman, World Plaza Building, 268 Muñoz Rivera Ave., Suite #702, Hato Rey, PR 00918, or by electronic mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
