The Energy Bureau of the Puerto Rico Public Service Regulatory Board (“Energy Bureau”) is the specialized independent entity created by virtue of Act 57-2014, known as the Puerto Rico Energy Transformation and RELIEF Act, as amended, in charge of regulating, overseeing, and enforcing public policy on energy of the Government of Puerto Rico. The Energy Bureau has the duty to establish and implement regulations and the necessary regulatory actions to guarantee the capacity, reliability, security, and efficiency of Puerto Rico’s electric system.
As part of the implementation of this public policy, the Energy Bureau deems necessary and prudent to inquire about the necessary requirements to promote an efficient and orderly deployment of electric vehicle chargers, in order to promote and facilitate their proliferation in Puerto Rico.
STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOP
The Energy Bureau will hold a Stakeholder Workshop, on September 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., to begin the discussion around electric vehicle adoption trends and to encourage the deployment of the necessary infrastructure additions.
To prevent the spreading of Covid-19, the Workshop will be held virtually through the Microsoft Teams platform and livestreamed via the Energy Bureau’s Youtube Channel. Any person interested in participating in the Workshop shall request access on or before 3:00 p.m. of the day before the workshop, (i) sending an email to secretaria@jrsp.pr.gov; or (ii) contacting the Energy Bureau’s Clerk at (787) 523-6262.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Any interested person may present written comments before the Energy Bureau until October 7, 2021. The Written Public Comments to be filed with the Energy Bureau shall: (i) include in their title the following: “Public Comments on the Deployment of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure”; (ii) be addressed to the attention of Edison Avilés Deliz, Chairman; and (iii) be filed using any of the following methods: by electronic mail at: comentarios@jrsp.pr.gov; through the Energy Bureau’s electronic filing tool at: https://radicacion.energia.pr.gov/; by postal mail addressed to the Puerto Rico Energy Bureau’s Clerk’s Office at World Plaza Building, 268 Muñoz Rivera Ave., Plaza Level Suite 202, San Juan, PR 00918-1925; or in person at the Energy Bureau’s Clerk’s Office, at the referenced address.
